b-ingy.....welcome to the post. Looks like your motor is a 1985, not sure about the t/t, just look and see if there is a t/t motor on the bracket.

Welcome to the forum!!!
All I can tell you is that it had T/T when it left the showroom. That was 20 years ago when cell phones were as big as a Yugo!!!!!! Only a visual will tell ya for sure. Motor is over 350lbs., so I sure hope it still does.
Good luck

Re: How old is my Evinrude 175 HP

As someone wrote, the motor came with T/T. The questions are: is the hardware still in place and does it still work? I guess another question is: if it doesn't work, how to make it work.

The T/T unit is a cylindrical shaped thing mounted on the engine bracket. It's usually painted the color of the engine, but if it's been replaced, it might be a different color, like primer green.

Another clue will be the control - the T/T control is usually a little rocker switch mounted to the remote control lever/arm.

By the way, if you get a shop manual for the motor, either a generic type (e.g. Seloc) or a factory manual, all this stuff will be clear if you don't understand it. You can also buy an original owner's manual (not shop manual). One source for all this stuff is: www.mastertechmarine.com.

I have an '82 175 so I envy your new engine!
