Lower Unit

Has anyone ever had the lower unit of a smaller outboard apart? If so, how hard was it to disassemble and reassemble?

Sure. It was easy. Another one I did was hard though.<br />You know we're going to need some specifics. :)

how small are we talking here. Small as in under 10hp? Small motors without a clutch are really easy to disassemble although some times the seals around the shafts can be tricky to remove.

get amanual read it then decide if your capable of teardown reassemble

not really what i would call small.first get a manual.not very old why do you need to disassemble it?

Major vibration when I put it in gear. Defniatley not the prop. I bonked it a while back. Worked fine for about 4 or 5 outings. Then the vibrations started.
