Used parts dealers should have plenty of them. Try:
EDIT by moderator1; Paul, if you wish, you may list the names on this post if you would like to edit it.
We just can't post direct links anymore, and I'm sure you can see why.
Thank you, Sir.

If you can find your local outboard junkyard, you'll probably get your best deals there. What's wrong with the crank you have? PS - I assume we're talking about the crankshaft rather than the pull-start.

EDIT: I just noticed we're in Project Boats. This will likely get moved to a more appropriate catagory.

Moving to Evinrude troubles.

Paul, please refer posters by organization name rather than link. It seems direct links to commercial sites interfere with iboats business interest in some way.

Thanks, :)

Sure thing, JB.

Just to be 100% clear, to use the above as an example links to Twincity and Outboard Exchange are the problem since they also sell new parts & powerheads? Are the links to Marine Parts Outlet (used parts only), NEECA and Ebay all right since they don't directly compete with Iboats?

How about links to manuals and such? Is abusing the IShopmarine, Dougrusselle, etc, sites for their parts diagrams OK with IBoats?

This seems to be a new rule, I would like to know where the boundaries lay. Thanks!

No trouble at all!
You don't say what part of the world you're from, but I've found if you email a seller who won't ship to you're country, they'll usually make an exception. It seems to me they really just want to here that you're a normal person who can pay promptly, and you understand there is higher shipping charges and possibly customs you will be obliged to pay.

JB,

I have sort of the same question Paul has. Can you get the owners of the forum to clarify the rule. I know I've been posting links where they seemed appropriate, too. I do note that iboats.com doesn't sell the crankshaft this guy's looking for.

I can understand, though, a commercial concern's problem with linking to competitors. So, I'll not do so at all until we get some clarification.

My main interest in older OMC outboards, so a lot of the parts, etc., aren't available through iboats.com. I'll check each time, of course, but it's awfully handy to be able to direct people to the sites, when appropriate.

any person can post the "NAME" of the site, or business, but NO direct links to those businesses that may be in competition with iboats in areas other than just a posted request about a crank. Most of these sites sell the same parts as iboats, and we really don't want to "link" ourselves out of business.
Again, mention the name, but no links posted direct to the site.
Thank you for your understanding.
