91 Erude 60 hp runs great out of water not in

It runs real good on dry land with a water wing.When I put it in the water it dosen't sound right, and dies when I put it in gear. I have checked all fuel lines, and even rebuilt the carb,s, but still have same problems. It was running gret then died on the lake one day, and ran like it was bogging down. Thanks for any help...

You probably need to set your idle in the water. If it bogs squeeze your primer and see if it picks up. If it doesn't then check for spark when it bogs.

Check to see if your are getting a spark that wilol jump a 1/2" gap with a bright blue snap. I suspect though that you still have some crud in the carbs.

Lima....Your compression should be within 5% on all 3. If it's good and your spark tests good, I wouls have to agree with SoLittle, and would pull your carbs again. Did you do a Link and Synch after you put the carbs back on?

3 carbs... pull 'em back off...take the 1/4 inch standard threaded slotted 7/16's head bolts out of bowls...Get a skinny screwdriver and take the jets out...Use a torch head cleaner to clean them...And soak in carb cleaner...Reassemble...Drive on

Could be a number of other things though...compression...carbon buildup behind rings if it ran ok to begin with....engine warms up, pistons swell up...engine overheats...you bog down after engine overheats

get a buddy and a screwdriver to check firing at your own risk....

I would advise getting a real spark tester from an auto parts store they're cheap enough and easier.
