I have twin 1987 OMC 1.6L crossflow SeaDrives. We went out yesterday for the day. It was our first time out in almost six months and turned out to be a great day for it.

Both engines started normally and were running smoothly. The channel out of the marina is very long and a no wake zone so the engines had plenty of time to get to operating temp. At the end of the channel I opened it up to WOT. Since was a bit sluggish I looked down at the tachs. One was at 5000 rpm and climbing. The other was at 3800 but climbing very slowly. The starboard climbed to 5500 but it took several minutes for the port to catchup. There was no sense of vibration. Both ran normally for the rest of the day and screaming at WOT. Tonight I pulled all the plugs and all 8 looked about the same.

I have read many posts about problems where the symptoms are a decrease in rpms from WOT but never the reverse. Your thoughts????

Sounds like the port engine was have a little problem getting the fuel flow going. Maybe a little crude in the bowls just slowly worked it's way out? I havn't had any experience with dual engine set ups so I'm just guessing here. Are the engines on separate tanks?

Be darn hard to diagnois with out it happening again.....what's that 50 cent word....anomoly???? don't even know if I spelt it rite.

Just for grins....I'd check the fuel lines for any suspicous connection...anything that might suck air. Check the feed lines to...don't know your set up, but couldn't hurt. That's about the best I can come up with right now partner.
