I had to rig my shifting circuit due to a bad stock switch that was orginally flipped by the throttle arm. I used two auto relays to create the logic to feed the required voltages to the two wires for the shifting solenoids. I also had a power switch that powered the relays. With no power the tranny defaults to forward, luckily. With the power on it would not shift into forward or reverse. It sounded like it was trying to go into gear but would not fully engage and would kill the engine. I could shut the power off to my shifting circuit and it would default to forward. I changed the LU fluid with the recommended premium blend as was in it before. I ran the engine on the muffs in my driveway and the shifting circuit seemed to work fine. Could a lower unit lube change have fixed my problem or should I anticipate the problem again once the boat is in the water?? I changed the fluid a good 24hours after I ran the engine. It was the color of coffee with a lot of cream
but no water preceded the oil when I drained it.

Any thoughts???
