Overhauling an Evenrud 3 hp Yachtwin motor

Hello <br />I have an Evenrud 3 hp Yachtwin motor I think it’s from 1965, I’ am going to overhauling it, is there something I shut be veer off. I never overhauled an outboard engine before.<br /><br /><br /> olemartin@hotmail.com

I agree with JB - a Service manual is a must for service specifications and such.<br /><br />There's a few good and great tutorials online. Have a look at maxrules.com/fixtuneitup.html and www.outboard-motor-repair.com . An Evinrude from that time is the same as a Johnson, but with different paint.
