I have recently purchased a 1966 Johnson 5.5 hp Seahorse outboard motor model CD-18 (or CD-13), serial #2180299 (it came with the Sevylor dinghy). How do I find the gas to oil ratio, and where would I find a manual? Any help would be appreciated.

now if your modle number is CD18 that would make it a 1961 but from what I hear they are good motors

If its a 1956 CD-13, her cowl (cover) will be metal.
If its a 1961 CD-18, it'll be fiberglass.

Either way 24:1 like jim says.

You can double check the model number Candy, look for a large welsh plug on the block. The model and serial number will be stamped on there also. The plug will be roughly the size of a quarter.

Back then, Johnson didn't put the model number on the plugs - just the serial...

- Scott
