Johnson Steering Problem

I am new to boating in general. I got a 50hp johnson from the 80's for free and I can't use it. I took in in the water and it ran perfect but could not steer. It was locked in place or something. I heard there is a pin or something you have to pull to unlock the steering, but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know if it is something simple like a pin, or you think it needs more work after being stored for 4 years. The motor just doesn't turn, even if I push the motor from side to side. PLEASE HELP! I wanna go fishing!

HI<br /> I don't think it will be a 'pin" more than likely steering seized, first disconnect the steering arm to the motor to see if the motor is seized or the cable is jammed, then work from there.
