I just purchased a 1970 SS19.5 Slickcraft with a 1968 210 HP OMC inboard engine. I was shown clean oil at the full line at time of purchase.I ran it for two hours, no smoke, but noiticed vlave noise. I checked the oil, and it did not register on the dipstick. I added 7.5 quarts, which seems an awful lot of oil. It still is not up to the dipsitck. There is no oil leaking out of the engine or on the water around the boat. Any suggestions?

Welcome!!

Your right, that a lot'a oil! I'm sure its going somewhere. Perhaps we might get more response if one of the mods could move this to the I/O section.

Good luck!

It's leaking, for sure. It's probably lurking down in the bilge area. Sounds like someone left something loose when they drained the oil to put that brand new oil in there to show you.

If you put in 7.5 quarts of oil, it's almost certain that it's just leaking out. Check the bilge.
