Thanks in advance for the help.<br /><br />I got a old boat and motor for free and need some help.<br /><br />Evinrude 50<br />Model: 501725<br />Serial: C 93755<br /><br />1. What year is this motor? 72?<br /><br />2. Is there a place where I can get a manual for free?<br /><br />3. I changed the plugs, new gas tank and lines. Fuel filter looks very clean.<br /><br />The engine runs perfect for about 15 - 20 minutes. Something must get hot and starts to fail. The engine will only stay running at lower rpms. If I try to give it more throttle it starts to die.<br /><br />My father (from past experiences) thinks it must be the powerpack. <br /><br />Is this the likely cause? What else could it be? <br /><br />tks.<br /><br />How would I go about checking the compression? I am mechanically inclined just not sure how to do it or tools required? And should I check it cold or hot?
