Hey fellas. This motor's never missed a lick except about 5 years ago when the powerpack and a coil went out. Took it out the first time this year back in May and it ran great for the first 3 hours, cut it off for 10 mins and it wouldn't start back up. Checked for fuel and spark and it didn't look like the right side of the motor was getting any spark. Sat their waiting for someone to come get us and it finally started after it sat for about an hour.

Ran great all the way home and a few short outings after that. Took it out Memorial Day weekend and it died again after about 3 hours of running; got towed home and sure enough, it cranked up again the next morning. Checked the fuel filter and it was about 1/4 full of water, so I replaced it and figured that that must have been the problem.

Let the boat sit till last weekend and tried to crank it, but it wouldn't start. Pulled the carbs and fuel pump thinking that their might have been water in them, but they were both super clean and no water. Fuel pump was pumping gas (VRO removed). Figured that it must be the powerpack again, so I replaced that, but it still won't start. Now I'm thinking that it must be something electrical under the flywheel (stator or pick up?). Any suggestions?? It did kick off one time this weekend, but died immediately after. It will turn over all day long, but won't start even with fuel poured directly into the carbs (that's what makes me think its something electrical).

Any help or advice sure would be appreciated. This thing is driving me nuts! TIA.

Dave
