Hi. I'm new so please bear with me. I just bought a 1957 14'Lonestar with a 16" transom. On it was 1959 Johnson 18hp Model FDL13R Serial #1991425. I have determined by reading this forum that I need a clutch dog, forward gear and gear seal kit. Also, this is a long shaft motor and I need to take out the 5" extension and make it a short shaft motor. The only thing I can't seem to find from this forum is where I can purchase these parts at a "reasonable" price. Any suggestions. Thanks. The information here is terrific for us boatmotor dummies.

you can try twin city outboards or maybe mount a jack plate on the transom to raise the motor up 5in.

contact tcoutboard.com. They should be able to find the parts you need.
