I have a 1986 110 v4 always ran perfect. today i tried to adjust ( and did ) the butterflies so that they were fully open at wot throttle! now the engine runs lousey at idle it spits and some times stalles, question should the butterflies be fully closed when motor is off in netural? why is it spitting at idle now? if i race it up it takes off ( in netural on muffs) i really can not get it to idle belom 1200 rpm with out it spitting then stalling, should have just left it alone it was running good, i just wanted to make it was at full throttle! what should the idle be on muffs? please help! thanks

The throttle plates "butterfies" are adjusted at full closed. If one is out of sync, or part way open at idle position, it will never idle right.

With the trottle lever all the way back, when you loosen the lock screw on the throttle link the carbs will snap closed.

R, Johnson, What i did was took both carbs apart a cleaned them with gumout, reassembled them and put them back on engine, and so far so good motor runs very good again! only thing i do not have a inline gas filter, on a water sep/filter, is this ok or shoud i put a inline one on the gas line?
