I recently changed the needle and seat in the bowl because it was stuck closed and wouldn't start and now I only get half the speed. It ran good before so I'm puzzled to why it only runs 1/2 speed. I checked the butterfly position and it's wide open at full throtle. One thing I should mention is the needle I purchased has a clip that attaches to the metal tab on the float and my old one didn't have that, but that only helps the needle to open when the float is down. Could it be the adjustment with the two metal arms on the carburator ? because I did have to remove them to take the carb off and didn't mark the position before I removed it, but like I said previous, the butterfly is wide open at full throttle.......any feedback would greatly be appreciated....thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

I would check to make sure float level is correct. Also check good for air leaks in fuel supply line.

While I had carb tore down I would clean real good with carb cleaner and blow out all passages with compressed air.

Good luck!

Any idea of what the specs are for the float level or should it just be perpendicular to bottom of carb when turned upside down ?
