What year is this Johnson?

The model is RXL-12M and serial is 2409732? I can't get a straight answer from the dealers. It says super sea horse on the side and is a 28hp.

Welcome to Iboats, Altamontny!<br />It's a '64 28hp longshaft (to fit a 20" transom). Click the little "Man-next-to-house" icon at the top of my post to see my '62 28hp Johnson.<br /> 1964 Johnson Catalog.

Can anybody help me to identify the year of manufacture for a 4hp Johnson Seahorse with the model number - J4BRCTA Serial number B028545.

I reckon its an 80's model.....

C=8, T= 3 therefore 1983

Thank you for helping its much appreciated. The engine is okay apart from requiring a new choke mechanism so no mjor repairs required. If you know anywhere that I can obtain the parts that would be great.
