Hi Craig,<br /> There is nothing to disconnect. If it won't come loose - it's stuck. Not uncommon on motors used in saltwater with infrequent maintenance. The unit is held on with three bolts - one front, two recessed above the prop. That's it.<br /> Gentle persuasion, penetrating oil, brute force and colorful language are often required at this point. Quite often what will happen is the unit will pull off with the shaft(s) still stuck in the motor. This at least gives you something more positive to grab onto as you pull them out. If you need to grab the shaft itself with ViceGrips or the like, do it in a non-bearing or seal area so you don't marf up important contact areas.<br /> If the search function is working now, then you should be able to search on stuck driveshafts or shift shafts and see what comes up for other solutions.<br /> Good luck!<br />- Scott
