I WAS GIVEN A 1960's something Speedy Four 75 Horse Power Outboard Motor.Engine for it's age is better than new never been touched looks like it came right out of the showroom new.HERE'S my question does anybody know what the shift shaft lenght is?The person I got it from said it went into Forward & Reverse fine until they where told to replace the water pump.So they did and now it only into one gear.I tried Making adjustments nothing no change.Removed the little plates on side of exhaust leg to check linkage where the lower unit connects its nice and tight no play at all.Removed lower unit and found shiftshaft bent like they tried to straiten it.Im wanting to know if its supposed to have some kind of a curve to it. I APPRECIATE AN HELP THANKS
