can any one tell me where i can get a thrust pin for my 110 hp 1986 evinrude. it's the pin that goes in the holes in the motor transome bracket that allows me to manually adjust the trim. i've looked on the internet with no success. also i need to find a lever or something to tilt the motor when i'm in the boat. This old motor is heavy. i can't find these things cause i must be calling them by the wrong names.

Pretty close sujend14.They call them a thrust rod.I always called them angle adjusting rod. Here's a place that lists them but hold on to your wallet. They're asking like 50 bucks. web page

iboats carries the other item you asked about.Search through the mega mall.

Re: thrust pin

It is part no. 436541, called a thrust rod but commonly known as the tilt pin, and is available thru any Johnson Evinrude dealer.

Re: thrust pin

Thanks to all for the advice and help. I went to a local metal supplier "Fazzio Steel" and bought a stainless steel 1/2" rod. I'm going to bend it to an "L" shape and drill a hole in the end to place a king pin to make the thrust pin. I also picked up some aluminum square tube to make the motor tilt assist lever. I saw the picture of it on OBJ's attachment, so I'll just make that with a few modifications. The material cost was about 10.00 bucks for everthing needed for both. I have the time, tools, and some no how to make stuff myself. I'm trying to keep the cost of boating down.
