I have a 88model Ev 90hp my TnT will not work when the boat is running at WOT it's like it doesn't have the power to push the foot back against the tourqe of the prop.... it works fine at idle speed ... if I don't have the motor trimmed all the way down when I take my hole shot.. the motor will close down to the "trimmed all the way" down position... when at Idle the trim motor sounds find and responds very well... can this be caused by low fluid? I saw instructions on the board on how to check the fluid on a 84 model motor and was wondering if my 88 was the same ...

To check the fluid level, tilt all the way up and set down on trail locks.Pull fill screw and add until oil is level with thread hole.Replace srew, run tilt/trim up and down a few times, let set and recheck.

DHP

Yep...It'll be the same. Check the level and post back what you find.

Re: No Trim under power 90HP Rude

Guys,

Went home last night... trimmed up dropped on travel lock.. removed screw to check fluid and fluid comes rushing out... it was over filled (I"ve been told that it should be level w/ the threads.. I let it go until that was the case. and replaced screw. (fluid looked fine.) I then ran the motor up/down several times as directed. I'll run it saturday and follow up. one other thing. looking back on last weekend when I was experiencing the problem.. I don't recall if I ever actually trimmed the motor all the way down to the transom to execute my hole shot. I very well could have been trimming it down to the end of the fast tilt cycle (what an idiot) I don't know if this would have made a diffrence or not. but it seems logical this would have put me executing my hole shot w/ the motor already trimmed out (would it not) and nowhere to "trim it up/out"

Gentlemen.... Boat ran Excellent this weekend... It was obviously a "operator malfunction" or Operator Headspace and Timing as we used to say in the army.... Thanks

If it still doesn't work correctly, make sure the bleed screw is completely tight.
