i'm not shure but the high speed jet should be a fixed one.
the low speed is adjusteble.
what are you trying to acomplish??

better idle?
before changing the needle make shure everything else is in good condition.
carb jets are clean?
link and sync loose?

the needle just doesnt change its setting thats why i tell you to check other things before leaning out or richening up wich both you dont want to do.

good luck

I'd lightly seat them and back them off(counterclockwise) 2 1/2 turns and water test.If they're too lean the engine will struggle out of hole and die.Fine tune from there. Each engine will have its own sweet spot setting,as there are suttle differences in engine height set-ups with respect to exhaust back pressure. My engine (96' 70 hp Rude) was initially factory set at 2 1/4 turns open on each.Had flat accelleration issues from get go.They are now set at 3 1/4 turn open.

I think you will find that the initial setting will be closer to 5 turns open and the motor will run well between 5 and 6 turns open. The '95 service manuals had some incorrect information.

Hi medic 13,

I have the twin to your moter and the carbs are a ***** to set, mine are set at 4 1/2 started at 5 stil runs rough, also tried at 2 1/2 as the manual sayes but this was not right, it would not run at this setting. will look at it again after the snow goes away. Let us know how yours turns out when you get it set. cheers..Claude.. ;) are your carbs the Suffix A or the suffix P mine are the A with two idle orifice the P only has one?
