Re: tie wraps

You want OMC/BRP #320107.The "head" is curved to grip the hose 360 degrees.<br /><br />DHP

Re: tie wraps

Regular zip ties leave a gap that can eventually lead to a leak. The ones DHP mentions have flanges that fill that gap. Mercury offers those as well (54-816311 or 69355). If you can't get those, you can use regular zip ties, they did for years and some brands still use them. The others are just a lot better. What I've done in a pinch is to use two smaller zipties on each connection, placing the heads 180 degrees apart.

And use one of those ZipTie guns you can get at Home Depot, or the like. The guns tighten them MUCH tighter than you can get by hand, or even with pliers... Plus they have a nifty twist & cut feature that nips the end off almost flush with the head...<br />- Scott

Re: tie wraps

I use "zip ties" all the time. BUt use good ones. I get mine at electrical supply. They cost about 9 cents each and hav a stainless lock in them. <br />The cheap ones you get 1000 for $10 are useless.

Thomas & Betts, the black ones - they are UV resistant.

"The cheap ones you get 1000 for $10 are useless."<br />"Regular zip ties leave a gap that can eventually lead to a leak."<br />Wow, I had no idea. I rebuilt my carbs and replaced all my fuel lines last year using I guess the cheap ties - guess I need to replace with "the good ones". Thanks for the info!
