Year 1996. Do you think it might be the plugs? The guy I bought from said they have not been changed in a while. What gap do I need to set plugs. Fuse is ok. The motor was doing the same thing toward the end of last summer, but after turning switch and trying several times it would fire up. This year it just sits and turns over, but will not fire up.Originally posted by ezeke:<br /> Fuse ok? It's next to the starter solenoid.
Just a wild guess here...but I'd start by making sure the ignition/kill switch isn't the culprit. There is a big red "cannon" plug on your motor. Unplug it and check spark. If you try to start the motor and it does start, you will have no way to shut it off with that plug undone other than manually flooding it with the primer.Originally posted by MOMO:<br />but after turning switch and trying several times it would fire up.
