I have a 1965, 33hp Johnson, made into an electric start. I am able to start my motor by the ignition key, but I can't shut it off with the key. How do I hook up a kill to my ignition? Is there anywhere I can get a diagram or does anybody know how I can hook it to my ignition or my solenoid? Do I need to hook something to my electric choke?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: shutting off motor

Welcome dboyle!

Did the engine have a kill button on it? If so, run the two wires that went to the kill button up to the ignition switch. If you are using an ignition switch with two terminals marked "M"...connect one wire to one "M" and the other to the other "M". Shutting off the switch will be like using the kill button on the engine.

Re: shutting off motor

Thanks for the info. But I don't have the manual and I don't know which wires to hook to a toggle switch. The kill switch was removed and they installed battery wires through the hole. Is there anywhere I can find a diagram of my motor on the internet?
thanks
