I have a 77 Mako with an 87 200 evinrude. The steering systems seems to be hydraulic. It is very hard to turn so I am assuming it is shot. It has oil in the system. Also the grease fittings for the cylider arm are plugged up. I am looking to either repair it or replace it. Is there anywhere to find parts for it or are there any recommendations on what to replace it with.

wreckdiver,

Look around for a name on the system. More than likely it is: Sea Star or Morse. If so, parts are available.

The only name I found on the system is Dynalitic. I looked all over for them and cant find anything. Should I just replace the whole system?

wreckdiver,

Never heard of that one. Sea Star and Morse both make complete kits.
