looking for parts...please help.

Hello all,<br /> <br /> I am looking for parts for my 1961 Johnson 40 H.P. and I was wondering if the parts for a 1968 Johnson would fit? The reason I ask is because all I can find for part number's is 1968 model and newer. I can't find any part numbers for older models. <br /><br /> Unless someone has older part numbers for a RDS-23. I need a carb kit (and I don't want Sierra) because I need the float and Sierra does not make a float for my year. So I need the manufacturers carb kit. I also need the slow speed needle and I would like to get a new slow speed needle knob as well. So please help me and tell me what these part numbers are for a 1961 Johnson 40 H.p. (Rds-23).<br /><br /> Thank-you all for your quick replies.

Funny,<br /><br /> My johnson dealer says that they do nat make a gasket set for my carburetor anymore. I have to order parts for it individually. I ordered a float and it cost me $17.00 Cnd. Seems a little stiff for that but o' well. I guess if I want my boat to go I better spend the money. Thanks for all your help.

That's funny, 439074 is in the '05 BRP Service Parts catalog. Perhaps your dealer is looking in the wrong place.
