Is anyone aware of a problem with their vinyl on their boat not being marine grade vinyl? We have a severe mildew problem and we know of one person that the manufacturer actually replaced their seats. This is on a 2000 pontoon boat. The comapny has admitted that they received some vinyl that did not have the proper "COATING". Correct me if I am wrong but I thought the additive that makes the vinyl mildew resistant is added to the vinyl as it is made.

Has anyone heard of this?

Does anyone know where we can have the vinyl tested or a way that we can determine if ours is one of the defective vinyls?

At this time the company is wanting to send us new vinyl, but we must pay to have the upholstery work done. I think this is unfair. We will probably get an attorney, but we would first like to know if the vinyl in our boat is bad.

The company seems to think that we are only reporting this now because we want new seats. Our seats are in great condition. We have nothing to gain by getting them to replace it, except about 20 days a year of boating instead of scrubbing.

We feel like they should replace it if it is defective and if it is not, we want to know so we can drop it.

If anyone can give insight to how the vinyl is made or knows of someone who has had success dealing with the manufacturer, please let me know.

Thank you!
