I got myself my first boat about 3 weeks ago and i have been patching it up with putty fixing it up and i have some great plans for it.. To paint it Black and diablo red!. It is a 1974 De Havilland Runabout 4.33m with a 1970 Mercury 65hp Outboard Thunderbolt! <br /><br />Its a great little boat and looks like half speedboat half runabout with the canopy and window off! <br /><br />Anyone know if these boats have any problems or even if there any good! I am gonna do a 100% fix up on this boat... The engine seems to run great just has a sneezing problem related to the carb's which im going to get fixed etc... Just wondering do you think this boat will plane easily? and what speeds you think it could reach? ... You think it can pull a water skiier?<br /><br />Thanks 
I also bought this boat in need of a new paintjob, carpet, engine fix up (cleaning carbs etc.) and a new set of boat instruments for about $1500 (aussie dollars) with trailer (needs paintjob to and it only has minor rust). That is around $750 USD you think it was worth it?
