Dano- dont worry about the age my 67 65hp merc still runs fine all they need is a little tlc. By the way if you dont have tilt and trim for it there is one on ebay thats a complete set up. I added it to mine and picked up about 4 mph on top end and have increased to a 17 pitch prop with no loss of to rpm.
