1978 Merc 115 Switch Box

I am looking for a switchbox for this motor, the engine ser# is 4858349 and the part number for the switchbox is 332-2986A21. Does anyone have one of these laying around thier shop that works? Is this an interchangeable part? Is there an aftermarket part to replace this part?

I have a spare switch-box for a 79 115 merc. I was told it was good by previous owner, but I'll study up on how to test it and get back to you.

you can get one aftermarket from sierra supply part# is 18-5779. i have a new one i can sell you for $220.00. there not cheap.

the switchbox from any distributor fired inline 6 from 73 on should work. Look around. You shouldn't have to pay more than $50 used-- probably less. Call some marine dealers. Inline six parts are everywhere.

I got one off a 198? inline 6 Mercury 90 HP that was running before the lower unit cracked. Give me an email and I can send it to ya real cheap if it'll fit your application.<br />semreh012@yahoo.com
