I have an '82 70 hp mercury long shaft motor on a 10 ft. GW Invader. I know that a long shaft is not the correct motor for this application, but i have raised it a little already on the transom, but need to go about another 8 inches. I'm afraid this is going to make the boat pretty top heavy. My question is if there is a short shaft conversion for my motor. I appreciate any info. you guys may have. Thanks!

There is no conversion kit that I know of, you might put a jackplate of some sort on it. Be careful you dont blow that little boat over.

Thanks, Nathan. I've got a jackplate already that raised it about 3 in. and i still have to raise it about 6 or 8in. to get it where I want it. if i dont' go with a torque shift prop, i'm going to try a surfacing application. I am kinda worried about the top heaviness, but i guess i'll just have to be real careful ;)
