Merc 650 coil

I am trying to find a coil for a 650 merc serial#9047146.<br /><br />I think the part# is 332-4894-a1, but every site I go to does not list it? Any ideas on price? <br /><br />On outboardparts.com they list one with part# 339-7370a-13. Is this a universal one? It looks like the one on my motor.

eb, serial #s different here specify 3 or four cylinder and color of wraparound cowling

well worked out bear!<br />I understand your point echozulu, but I wanna fix the critter!! It has now become more of a battle and I know that will cost me ££££'s!<br /><br />Anyone any ideas where I can get one? cost?

hey i admire your guts there is a company in alabama that remanufactures distributor housings (trigger) called rapair inc. hook up everything on the ignition disconnect the white and brown wires from trigger to switchbox put jumper wire from brown terminal of switchbox just very quickly tap to ground see if coil fires do it like a bird pecking if you have fire we definitely know its the trigger and you can move forward they cost @ 400 bucks gotta go to work in about a hour let me how you make out

Cheers for you help. I have already tested the trigger on thunderbolt analyser and it tested good, the switchbox tested bad so got a new one,(but could have been coil!) that why I think it is coil. I am a bit worried though, that it might have burnt out my new switchbox. What you reckon?<br /><br />I will carry on with my quest! I have a few phone numbers to ring and I will let you know. Again thanks for your help
