merc 4.5

I have a mercury 4.5 that runs good with the trolling switch on but dies when the throttle is opened. Any ideas?<br /> Jim West

Usually a fuel supply problem.

Clogged main jet in the carburator? I had a bit of a merc 5 fuel pump gasket end up there. It had the same symptoms.
