Merc 225 Optimax Sluggish

My Merc is acting funny....It is showing the Check engine and gas light along with the alarm....it is definitley not running right....I replaced the fuel filter last year and emtied it again just recently....per the manual troubleshooting.....any other reason why this may be happening??? Also it seems to be using more gas than usual<br /><br />Thanks

Run a compression check on that motor. make sure all 6 cylinders are about 125 lbs. They should all be within 10% of each other. Post results and we will go from there.
