I have noticed that some motors fuel line dont even have any hose clams on them. If yous dont, add them to all connections, and make sure no leaks are on your fuel system. <br /> But hey, if your motors running good, dont worry too much about it. Its gonna smell like an engine either way you look at it.
Michael,<br /><br />Are you smelling "raw" gasoline or exhaust fumes?<br /><br />Raw Gas;<br /><br />1. Check your connections. Particularly at the quick connect on the engine. You may have to replace the O-rings on both the male and female fittings.<br /><br />2. As mentioned, is gas dripping from the front of the carbs? If so, a carb. rebuild may be in order.<br /><br />Exhaust Fumes:<br /><br />1. Many boats suffer from what is called the "station wagon effect" Particularly cuddy cabin style boats. This is the phenomonon where the air swirls around the back of the boat and enters the cockpit. Not much you can do about that.
Don't light any matches until you determine the cause.<br /><br />We lost a good repair shop 2 weeks ago, due to a boat that was leaking fuel.<br /><br />9 boats were lost in that fire.<br /><br />Melted fiberglass on a trailer is an ugly sight!<br /><br />Kenny
