When primed, fuel leaks through the exhaust like Niagra Falls. Its a 1974 Mercury outboard 150hp.

I checked needle valves (when kept closed manually they do not allow fuel to drip), I adjusted valve levers to the specs in book, floats don't get stuck when pressed into bowl using a screwdriver, etc, float springs are within spec.

Can floats themselves go bad (they look to be the originals)? They are still bouyant though perhaps they are saturated a little too much? Or could it be the float springs? I really don't know where to look next! What else can it be? The engine would otherwise run very well fuel is just gushing out the exhaust.

Thank you!
