Having a problem with a constant beep. It occurs after 3-5 minutes on the water at at least 3000 rpm. Can not get alarm to sound when hooked to hose in driveway. I believe it is overheating, but not sure (might be faulty thermostat). Have great flow from tell-tale, and it is a little warm(water). Do you think it is the waterpump or thermostat? Please help.

I would think the problem is a weak waterpump. While you have it hooked to the garden hose the water is also being forced up through the engine. Assisting the water pump.

TMD

You may also want to inspect the poppit valve, it opens up at higher rpms to allow more water to flow for cooling.
Good luck and let us know.
CU

----------------------
RUNNING THE MOTOR WHILE LISTENING TO THE HORN WILL MAKE YOU MORN!!

Just a suggestion, do you really want your thermostat? they only ever seem to cause problems! Of course it depends on your environment- in Aus its warm enough all year round not to warrant needing a thermostat to allow the engine to warm up. Indeed our motors have come standard without them, although the housing was there!
