Hi you may recall I asked for any guesses as to engine fault. The initial text is at the bottom of this post. Well today the boat went in for a look and the fault was quickly found to be the power pack which had stopped spark to one bank. A new one is on the way but how often does this happen? I think it is a 3"x2"x half inch black sealed box near the top of the motor with 3 plugs coming out. All the best guess down here were stale fuel. The two from the US were spark related so well done.

AV
NZ

"Happily boating one day in lake last week - 5600 rpm indicated. Next day went for 10 minutes at 3000 rpm. On stopping I noticed the idle speed had dropped back to sweet all - around 300 - 400 rpm. On restart it was reluctant and took a bit of reving in neutral - didn't sound that good - like a few cyliners missing. In drive it wouldn't go more than 1100 rpm without stalling so it was a slow trip home. Nothing blocking anything, no alarms sounding, plenty of gas and oil, just stalled each time I tried to go above 1100 rpm in drive. Motor is a 2000 series 135HP V6 carb model. Normally goes like..... Only 40 hours and little used. Any ideas? Got a couple myself but will wait for yours. Thanks folks."
