I have a 15 hp mariner from the 80's. it is the manual start. i see that there are 2 green wires coming from the "magnet assembly" along with the wires going to the rest of the ignition system. these wires just come out and end. some people have told me that you can run accesories off these. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Mystery Mariner wires

depending on the exact year some of those model had updated ignitions with electric start. the electric start really does not matter but when mer got a idea the would assemble a unit with the ability to be updated on the assembly i don't mean takeing it in for a update. this is the deal if the wires are factory. I wouldn't hook up spot lights or anything .

I'd have to put a volt meter on those two wires and see if anything was coming out of 'em.

c/6
Hooty
