I have a 1988 150 mariner mag 2 on a 1988 stratos 201 pro . The guy I got it from said he used 92 octane in it. Do I need to keep using the 92 octane or can I use a 87 or 89 octane fuel? Any imput WILL be welcome
Follow the owners manual. probably says 87 fresh, and no alcahol (ethanol) as long as it runs well dont waste your money. now my mercruiser won't run well on less than 92 but like i said..
I run my 87 Merc 150 on 87, anthing more is a waist of money, and a lot of it now days.

However Im going to be doing a test on a fuel additive called GTA Fuel Enhancer. Im always sceptical about aditives, and generally stay clear of them, however Ive hear great things about this product with 2 cycle engines so Im going to give it a try. Will post the results!
