i have 1977 mecr 1150 that had been sitting in a garage since 1986. i have noticed that the maine engine wire harnes, where the controls plug into the motor, almost all the wires are dry rotted. i would like to replace this.

the part number is "84- 69236A 1" is there any place online that you can order these things. ive tried mercurymarine.com but they dont work for motors older than 1980

im fairly new to mercs, but i do have 7 other outboards, so i am by far no nobb. but i still ask questions.

thanks in advance

mikey

It looks like Mercury still carries it through their parts website . You order the parts online and they drop ship them to a nearby Mercury dealer.

Mike, There are several sources for the wiring harness, new and used. Do a "Google" search on the part number and you will find some. Iboats also carries them I believe, as does Surplus Unlimited. Try www.rapair.com also
