My '95 60hp elpt mercury sometimes won't run- starter spins over fine- while cranking if I flip the kill switch on and off it usually will crank on the third cycle of this switch. Disconnected kill switch- no help. Got stranded last weekend when this problem showed up- wouldn't run- flip the kill switch up and down- it would pop once but not run. Once I got home it would run on top and bottom cylinders- no spark on center cylinder. removed ignition cover and found a connector from trigger-to-switchbox not fully plugged in- reconnected- now spark on all 3. Took to the water to test run- runs great- however several times had to cycle kill switch while cranking it to get it to run. Anyone heard of this? Switchbox damaged by loose wire?

I Think many kill switces are cheap and do not always get a good connection, especially in a humid environment like yours.

Will it behave OK, withn it permanently disconnected?
