how to remove my oil injection...?

1988 mariner(mercury in grey) 90hp 3cyl. the idea of oil injection is neat and all, but......<br /><br />can i just simply remove the oil lines and plug them , or is the more to it than that? this is my first VRO motor.<br /><br />if anybody has experience with this motor, that would be wondefull. <br /><br /><br />mike

as long as you keep a good fuel pump and change the brittle vynil oil lines when they get all stiff and hard I would keep it. the VRO on the inline motors was almost bullet proof. other than the **** oil alarm module.<br /> good luck and keep posting

But it's a Mercury. That has a Mikuni oil pump. VRO is Johnson/Evinrude. Nice thing about 2-stroke oil pumps is that you're always pumping clean oil. Never heard of one wearing out.
