S/N OB286521 Year is 1988. When I start cold I pump the fuel bulb and it starts instantly and runs great. Shut it off after its been run for a while and it will not start unless I pump the fuel bulb till it gets firm. Starts instantly and runs great. I have just install new fuel line and bulb and does not make any difference. Help would be great. Thanks

How long has it been since you rebuilt your fuel pump? Sounds like a leaky diaphram.

I've just began having this problem recently also. Yesterday, I stopped three times and then restarted after about 15 minutes and each time I had to squeeze the ball to get it to restart.

I had the engine in storage and I had never rebuilt the fuel pump. I have owned the engine for about 3 years and it ran great before I stored it. It does it with the engine trimmed down. Is there a fuel pump rebuilding kit available?
Thanks

Yes the kits are readily available from dealer. Also it's time ot replace the ball as it's checkvalves must be getting soft too.

Mako - sounds like you need a carb cleaning.

-W
