I have a new boat that came with am Alum. prop.
12-3/4 x 21 pitch. I want to put a S/S prop on. Kind of having a tough time finding a prop with that size and pitch. Don't know anything about props. Can I go with a diffrent dia and pitch for any better results?

Welcome!!

If youre happy with the performance now, yes you can go with a 21" ss prop. Just make sure your rpm's are where they need to be. You may be able to raise the motor a hole or so with ss. Stiletto's are very good box stock props.

Good luck!!

I run a 18 inch pitch on my 90HP and still pull to 5700 rpm. make sure you can rev it out what ever you choose the pitch will depend on the boat you are pushing around mine is 17 foot and about 1800 lbs of cuddy cabin ( think that weight conversion is right )

jte.
What kind of boat is it on? I,ve recently did the switch from alum. to ss.I personaly chose a turbo from precision prop. I had a 13 1/4 x 19 alum and went to the same thing in ss. I did notice a bit more noise out of the lower unit.Called precision right away the said it was due to the weight of the prop vs weight of the flywheel and what I was hearing was gear lash. This is only noticable @ idle. When I first heard it I freaked out ,pull back on to trailer to check everything out. Maybe you wont notic but I"ll bet you do.Anyway precision told me pitch for pitch, If with in allowable operating rpm range. So the end result was 43mph vs 46mph and I only lost 50 rpm.Alot better perforimg prop handels great sets the boat back on pad.(16ft.sc bassboat). This is a very afforadable prop,300 $ Plus for 50 dollars they have a exchange program So if you choose the wrong pitch you only have to pay 50$ for you mistake and you are not stuck with something you cant use. AS far as finding that size call them I'll bet they will have something to satisify you.All the info I got from peoople, they were the closes on what the said would be the end result.
