How do i remove lower gear unit on my 4 stroke 7.5 mercury longshaft outboard???

How do i remove lower gear unit on my 4 stroke mercury longshaft outboard???? If anyone could tell me how to do this or give my a website that explains how do do so i would greatly appreciate it!!!

I don't know for sure,but on 99% of outboards...<br />..Disconnect the shift linkage,remove the bolts,drop it down.Some 4STK Mercs have a rubber plug just above the gearcase that hides the linkage connection.<br /><br />DHP
