No Spark

I have a 1150 blueband Mercury outboard with serial no.8021202 and do not know if this model (don't know what year it is) has any points or not, or if there could be some other problem.

It's CD ign. and has no pts. does it have a dist. or 6 coils a dist is batt powered CD and ^ coils is alternor driven CD each system is different to trouble shoot

It has a dist not 6 coils.

it's battery CD To test the system with out a tester make sure you have 12V at the red termanal on the stitch box, then ck voltage on the white term. with he switch on,then with a jumper wire installed between the brn and white wires on the dist. side of the box, ground the blk termanal, if you have spark as you arc the termanal, you have a bad trigger and if you don't chances are its the box, it is in most cases, I have never replaced a coil (tranformer) --bob
