Hi

Need some help, my 115hp merc starts up ok from cold and runs fine. When i move somewhere else and try to start it again it's really difficult and can take as long as 10 mins to get going again, it also can be a problem shifting (it sometimes dies when throttle is applied) but once its on the plane it runs fine. If i have to restart it a couple of times during a fishing trip it nearly drains the battery. Can any of you provide any assistance. Thanks in advance

Sounds like dirty low speed jets or to lean but next time you restart warm pump the bulb to make sure the fuel pump check valves aren't leaking back--Bob

I think he left out a coma.

Should have read. "Next time you start the engine warm, Pump the bulp and see if it is still firm". If it isnt, could be a fuel pump, primer bulb, or bad needle and seats. When was the last time you did a (Complete) carb rebuild?

You do know that you don't choke it to warm start - right?

Ya, sounds like it might be time to clean those carbs and re-do the fuel pump. Also, if you don;t de-carb the motor it once a year - start.

-W
