Hey Guys

I have a 2000 Sundancer with leaking cabin windows. cant tell if leaking from the frame or the rubber gasket that the window closes onto.
Any Searay owners having this problem. also with all this rain I ended up with water under the floor of the cabin in the area by the shower sump pump. had to use a shop vac. Think this could have gotten in from a window and traveled between the wall down into the floor????

So much for Searay being better construted than other boats-- I have had more problems with this boat than my old 1988 Renkin WA-- should have kept that.

Any thoughts!!!

Thanks
Cool It

there is a product... think it's called deep creak, or something like that. anyway, it is very fluid and works on capillary action to wick itself into small voids. you may want to try some between the gasket and frame. don't need to find the leak, just correct it.

mattttt25, the product is called Capt Tolly's Creeping Crack Cure. You're right, it works well. You apply it as a water-thin liquid, it pulls into cracks by capillary action, then turns to rubber as it cures.

not sure how your windows are held in place but one secret is to slacken the screws/bolts slightly let your sealant stuff cure a bit then nip them tight..

this one applies if u are resealing/fitting windows as well.. leave everything loose till the sealent has cured a bit before the final tighten..

trog

Thanks Guys -- I sealed all the windows with new caulk and on the next rain cabin stayed dry!!!!. just did not think I would have to do this already on a 2000 boat but I guess it does not last that long with the salt water etc.

Cool It
