95 hp Merc Thunderbolt 6

I have a 95 hp thunderbolt 6 motor (S/N 2539112)that needs a new lower unit. I have no idea what year the motor is. The engine was rebuilt and only has about 200 hours on it. I would like to know if parts are available (new/used) and if anyone has any info on whether this particular motor is worth repairing.

Its a 1966 or 67 ck a round there are some used units out there

Lower units up to 1988 will fit. Watch Ebay you must to find a deal.<br /><br />-W

You sound like you know Mercs. Is this a good motor. For it's age, is it worth putting the money in it?

The were great engines in their time, Light Years ahead of OMC and many are still running like new--Bob

I have a 67 950 ss and love it. had to rebuild lower end this might help, saved me alot of money but took awhile to get all info.<br /><br />bearing <br />torrington- BH-1616, BH-1916, DC-31499<br />timken- 25580 money here<br />skf-6208 2RSJEM here too<br />skf-6205 2RSJEM 122X<br /><br />oil seals<br />CR chicago rawhide- 11730 (2)<br /><br /><br />please double check before buying, my eye sight<br />not what it once was <br /><br />good luck
